Issue with AAF File Size

Hi, guys

I’m encountering an issue while using X2Pro5 for the first time. I’m in the process of creating a 7-minute interview video, and when I export the AAF file without checking the “Reference WAV files” option, the resulting AAF file is typically only 2-3MB in size. However, when I open it in Pro Tools, I see unlinked audio clips, and I’m unable to manually relink them.

I’m using a 2023 MacBook Pro with an M2 Pro chip, running Sonoma 14.2 system. This is my first time using this software, and I would appreciate your patient assistance in resolving this issue.

Hi,

Can I check, do you have the “Embed media” option enabled?

You will need to have one or the other enbled to create a usable AAF in ProTools.

If neither the Embed or the Reference media options are enabled X2Pro5 will create a AAF that shows the sequence but it won’t contain either the embedded media or the reference links. This option is primarily used for support investigations where users do not want to share media.
