ParticipantHello,
I have the following issue:
I just purchased the app to convert my final cut XML. to AAF. for my sound designer. But every time I try to do it, it says:
Cannot Open
file:///Volumes/Extreme%20SSD/Mr.%20Steel/Dailies%20by%20Scene/Scene%2019%20(Day%202)/(19%20B3)%20A_0003C016_240921_120855_p1DRF.mxfAnd it does this with different files, not only this one. I put all of the individual folders as well as the whole hard drive in the permission section, so the app should have access to everything. I tried to triple click it and add it again but it still can’t open them.
Let me know what else I can do. Thank you!

KeymasterHi thekatewait11,
It could be the permissions on the higher level, if you drag n drop from a lower folder i.e. Extreme SSD/Mr Steel/Dailies by Scene, do you still get the same error message ? If so can you go to the containing folder and drag n drop that in i.e. Extreme SSD/Mr Steel/Dailies by Scene/Scene 2019 Day2/ If not can you forward a screen shot of the full error please.
Many thanks
James.

KeymasterHi thekatewait11,
That is a different file, its complaining of access to /New Volume/mr steel/Scene 1 (Day 1+4)/ can you add /New Volume/mr steel/ please.
Many thanks.
James.

ParticipantYes,
I receive this error with different files. But I added individual folders with this one as well and still received an error.

KeymasterYou need to add permissions for all media locations, usually the easiest way to do this is to add each external disk at the /Volumes/[disk] level rather than each folder. This is easier and more efficient than adding each folder.

ParticipantHi Tim,
I tried both adding volumes and folders as well as triple clicking and adding them again. It still shows this message 🙁

KeymasterHave you tried both browsing to the folders and also drag/drop?

KeymasterHi thekatewait11
Can you check the exact path given in the error message, is that media actually there ? Would you be able to attach the FCPXML your are using, or can you import the XML back into FCPX and if so does it give you any errors.
Many thanks.
James.

ParticipantHello,
I have just tried to run it from the top with another hard drive but still receive the same errors with different files. I added the specific folder as well as the whole drive and even the file itself. I attached the FCPXML below. Let me know if there’s anything I can do. Thanks!

KeymasterDear Kate,
Nothing wrong with the XML we can process it here and generate an AAF linking to the media you have. Looking at the media listed in the XML it is in three locations only.
///Volumes/12tb%20Extern/mr%20steel
///Users/ekaterinaveber/Downloads
///Volumes/Extreme%20SSD/Can you go to MediaLocations tab on the app, if the three are listed can you delete them (triple click), then go to finder and drag n drop them into media locations.
If we are still getting issues then I think we might need to arrange a remote session today.
Please advise soonest as there will be no one here after 5pm Eastern, and if we can dial in we would probably want to do it at about 4pm Eastern.
Yours Sincerely
James.

I did exactly what you told me, but I still get this issue. Would you be able to talk now or maybe tomorrow/Friday? Let me know, thank you!

KeymasterDear Katewait
Please check your spam filter as we have tried to contact you directly via your “animals” email address.
I think we need you to forward us the .mxf file in question src=”file:///Volumes/12tb%20Extern/mr%20steel/A_0003_1DUS/%5B3A,%20Take%202%5D%20-%20A_0003C004_240928_093657_p1DUS.mxf”
There would be someone available today upto 5pm Eastern, ideally though we would like to look at the mxf in advance.
Yours Sincerely
James.
