      Hello,

Trying to do a basic export of an AAF file from an FCPXML file. I have put the drives with the source media in the media locations input, selected embed media and when I export the AAF the file is tiny (kbs) and not workable. I have tried all of the legacy versions of the XML and none work. I am using FCPX 11.0.1 and Mac IOS Sequoia 15.1. I have tried this with multiple different libraries on various drives and none work. The log has repeated ‘Conform rates not applied.’

      Thank you

      T

The message about conform rates isn’t important, it just lets you know that if you have changed speeds then you’ll need to apply the speed effect in the audio conform or change the duration of the clip used.
any important messages which may indicate problems would be related to access to media files, if there are any then instead of browsing to the media locations (root of each media drive) try dragging/dropping the location to the media locations target instead.

Thank you- assigning the roles have fixed this problem. Now I have the issue that the AAF fails when coming in contact with certain proxy transcoded clips- an error like this:

The operation could not be completed
          file:///Volumes/Among%20Thieves%20/Among%20Thieves%20Export.fcpbundle/2-12-25/Transcoded%20Media/Proxy%20Media/C0048.mov

I have tried it with nearly all the different XML options (extended, basic, audio only etc.) and with the legacy versions as well. I am hesitant to touch the source media because I have already been solving relinking problems.

          Thanks for your help,
          Trevor

            Dear Trevor,

Could you send a picture of the actual error and could you attach a copy of the FCPXML please.

            Many thanks.

            James

Can you drag that volume (the disk) into the Media Locations target and try again.

                Tim.

                  Thank you for your help.

I have restarted the software, removed the disks, and put them back in and get the same error message above. Attached is my FCPXML

                    Hi Trevor

There is nothing wrong with the project as we are able to generate an AAF and import it into PT and it maps on the points we checked in the timeline.

I think we are looking at an issue with AVFoundation and the media itself, will forward you a separate link to upload the mov in question.

                    Yours Sincerely

                    James.

                      Hi Trevor,

If you cannot upload the .mov, then you might want to re-encode the media into a different codec i.e. ProRes.

                      Thoughts ?

                      Yours sincerely

                      James

I’m currently dealing with the exact same issue. I’m prepping to turn over a feature next week and I’m really concerned about this. This is my error

The operation could not be completed
                        file:///Users/trevorhorton/Movies/The%20ARR/The%20ARR%20Full%20FIlm%20
                        Turnover%20COLOR%20&%20SOUND%20LUT%20Disabled.fcpbundle/_Full%20Film/Transcoded
                        %20Media/Proxy%20Media/A088C002_230727_R52K.mov

I really need help. I don’t know what to do.

Quick update. I was able to generate an AAF from the previous version of X2Pro. I don’t know what the deal is with this error code on X2Pro5, but something is clearly broken if the previous version worked perfectly fine.

I’m happy to do whatever I can to improve this product, jump on a call, send files, but during this tight turnaround deadline, I’m going to have to revert back to the old X2Pro because it’s clearly working just fine and I just don’t have the time run a myriad of tests to isolate the issue. I just need the product to work like it always has for me.

                            Dear TH28.

We would need to look at the file in question “A088C002_230727_R52K.mov”, essentially X2Pro5 uses Apples AVFoundation and a R3D SDK to open and read media. X2Pro initially used Apples QT tool kit, which Apple advised us to move to AVFoundation. If you can let us know whether you are able to upload that file we will forward details of where to upload it to.

                            Yours Sincerely

                            James.
