Hi there. I’m considering purchasing X2Pro to send an FCP project to Pro Tools via AAF file.

I’m wondering can I also open the AAF file in Logic Pro easily. I saw an 8 year old youtube video showing this could be done but I can’t find any newer video showing this process https://youtu.be/ypNttDDrDBs?si=Gf_JUGfyGT6lkw60&t=589

Will the AAF open up in Logic and match the Final Cut Pro timeline?

      Thanks for your help.

        Dear Jono,

We will create an AAF that will open correctly in ProTools. Logic does support AAF import and you can import the AAF into it, but it does not do it as well as the import to ProTools. The AAF import in Logic has improved but it is not 100%. I would generate a couple of typical projects that you want. Export the FCPXML either attach the xml’s to this thread, we can create an AAF that just references the media and mail them back to you to open in Logic. Or you could buy X2Pro5, try the same XML’s into AAF and see what it looks like with embedded media in Logic, if it doesn’t work for your “style” of project then just ask the AppStore for a refund as it does not do what you want it to do.

        Hope the above helps

        Yours Sincerely

        James
