If you try to reimport the XML into FCP does it work OK or do you see an error of any kind?

Tried another test by adding my main Mac HD as a media source even though the media isn’t located there other than cache files. This allowed the same fcpxmld to work. Maybe something there.

That suggests that FCP is putting references to files on your HD in thje FCPXML, if you have proxys on that disk it may be referencing those.

The error received was “File Does Not Exist” It seems that if sometimes toggle embed media off and close the app reopen toggle back on close the app and try again it works. I have to perform this dance several times before I can get it to work.
