ParticipantHello,
I have read about the workarounds, unfortunately I still face this issue of file not existing.
Does anyone have a step-by-step idiot’s guide for getting this to work?
Also, if we’re going to see this bug fixed in the next update.
FCPXML 1.11 (I have tried other version) – I exported as Basic and as Audio and both don’t work.
Any advice will be appreciated as I need to deliver the cut to the sound designer soon.
🙂

KeymasterDear SMNASS
Sorry to hear that, would you be able to attach the FCPXMLD, and a picture of the actual message you get please. Depending on where the process failed there may be a .log created where the AAF should have been, if one exists can you forward that please.
Yours Sincerely
James.

KeymasterHi Jeff
If you try to import the fcpxmld into Final Cut you get a similar error when attempting to process in X2Pro5. The issue is that the Project CWSA 2025.fcpxmld contains CWSA 2025.fcpxmld and in here is the info.xml used by both X2Pro5 and Final Cut.
To resolve open the containing project CWSA 2025.fcpxmld, copy out the folder inside called CWSA 2025.fcpxmld and only use this xmld i.e. not the xmld that contains an xmld.
Yours Sincerely
James.

KeymasterHi Jeff,
Rule of thumb, is import the FCPXMLD back into FCPX on that machine (your not doing this to work on the project just see whether FCPX can read it), if you get the same error X2Pro5 gets, then it is probable that the XMLD is oddly formatted.
What we have seen is that you will have the project xyz.xmld, if you look inside this you see xyz.xmld, if you look inside this you will see the Info.fxpxml, which is the actual project.
It is easier to see this on a windows box. So on a windows box, if you have xmld inside another xmld. Then copy out the xyz.fcpxml\Info.fcpxml, i.e. if you now looked at the folder you created somewhere in windows you will see xyz.fcpxmld and below this info.fcpxml and then use this instead of the xyz.fcpxmld\xyz.fcpxmld\info.xml
Apologies if its a little confusing, I don’t quite know how else to explain it.
Regarding it working in 5.0.43 and not 5.0.44, is there a difference in OS or version of FCP on those machines ?
Many thanks
James.
