    Dear Seth,

We only get the paths for the media from the FCPXMLD,  additionally the XML will have a path to the original media and a path to proxy media.  X2Pro5 first uses the path to the original and if not there it will then look to the path for the proxy media as given in the XML.

For the operation could not be completed error,  can you check that the media is actually in the location given i.e. 24TB Seth Everett/Masquerade/00_Project/FROM_DRIVE_02/Masquerade 1.fcpbundle/../…./…/Proxy Media/A_………..1D2D (fcp1).mov.

It is possible the bookmarks that are being used are “stale” and pointing to locations/paths that no longer exist.

I would initially,  check and add the folders containing the media into the media locations tab,  if they are already there,  treble click them to remove them and then add them again.

If the paths are still not right and you still get bookmark errors or operation could not be completed it is possible these are only for one or two files referenced in the XML,  that may have no valid paths to actual media.  You would need to check that the mov file mentioned is actually in the path given in the error,  if it is not we could try to manually remove them from the FCPXML for you. Just attach the XML and screen shot of the error so we know what exact file we are looking at.

The other option, if you are (confident enough with FCP) is to create a new library,  copy the project to the new library and relink all the offline / missing files.  If that does not work copy to a new library,  delete the old library and then relink all the offline / missing files.

    Yours Sincerely

    James.
